2.0 SCOPE:
3.0 DEFINITIONS:
4.0 RESPONSIBILITY:
4.1 Quality control chemist shall be responsible Operation and cleaning of Centrifuge apparatus and maintains the record.
4.2 Head – Quality Control or his designee to ensure compliance.
5.0 PROCEDURE:
5.1 Procedure for general cleaning:
5.1.1 Clean the instrument daily with clean dry cloth from inside chamber and outside of the instrument.
5.1.2 Remove the glass pieces and solution immediately by removing centrifuge head, if any breakage of centrifuge tubes observed.
5.1.3 Wipe out the solution from Centrifuge chamber to prevent any corrosion occurs due to solution spillage.
5.2 Operating Instructions:
5.2.1 Switch ON the Main power supply and then Switch ON the Centrifuge with switch located at the right rear of the instrument.
5.2.2 At power ON the digital speed indicator and digital timer will light up.
5.2.3 The centrifuge lid locked during the power OFF can be opened after power ON.
5.2.4 Place the rotor on the centrifuge rotor shaft by loading its tubes.
5.2.5 Load the samples symmetrically after balancing the tubes. Close the lid cover of the centrifuge.
5.2.6 Fit the required rotor to the motor shaft and close the lid. When the motor and brake switch are in OFF mode.
5.2.7 Set the required speed up to 6000 RPM by pressing the RPM push switch and simultaneously operating the speed setting knob. Release the push switch after speed setting.
5.2.8 By default, the digital timer blinks after power ON and remains in manual mode for continuous operation.
5.2.9 By pressing the SET TIME key one can set the desired time up to 60 minutes.
5.2.10 After the door has been closed properly, push ON the motor on rocker switch.
5.2.11 The rotor will start to turn gradually to the desired speed and stay ON for the desired time interval.
Note: The user can put ON the brake rocker switch if the rotor has to be stopped fast.
5.2.12 Once the set time has elapsed, rotor speed will gradually decrease & come down to Zero RPM and tubes can be removed out.
Note:
1. If during the centrifugation operation, an imbalance is observed in the rotor, the unbalance indicator will light up on the front panel and cause the rotor to stop gradually. This indicator will have to be then reset by pressing the RESET switch next to the mains rocker switch, after the it has come to a halt.
2. In case of power failure, the rotor has come to a complete halt; the lid can be opened manually.
