Procedure for operation and cleaning of vacuum cleaner

1.0 PURPOSE:

To define the procedure for operation and cleaning of vacuum cleaner.

2.0 SCOPE:

This procedure for operation and cleaning of vacuum cleaner is applicable to warehouse/production department at (Company name).

3.0 REFERENCE:

Nil

4.0 DEFINITION:

Not Applicable.

5.0 RESPONSIBILITY:

5.1 Personnel of warehouse/production is responsible for execution of the procedure.
5.2 Head warehouse/production is responsible for overall compliance of the procedure.

6.0 PROCEDURE:

6.1 Operation of vacuum cleaner:
6.1.1 Ensure that all the parts of the vacuum cleaner are properly cleaned and properly assembled before use.
6.1.2 Plug the vacuum cleaner into the electrical supply socket and switch ‘ON’ the main electric supply.
6.1.3 Switch ‘ON’ the vacuum cleaner and run the vacuum cleaner at all the corners which are difficult to clean manually and other areas wherever required.
6.1.4 Use flat accessories for floor cleaning.
6.1.5 Switch off the power supply after use of vacuum cleaner. 

6.2 Cleaning of vacuum cleaner:
6.2.1 Clean the vacuum cleaner after every operation or once in a week.
6.2.2 Remove the plug of the vacuum cleaner from the main electrical supply socket.
6.2.3 Wrap the vacuum cleaner with polybag and affix ‘to be cleaned’ label.
6.2.4 Transfer the vacuum cleaner to service floor for cleaning.
6.2.5 Remove the filter bag from the vacuum cleaner.
6.2.6 Clean the filter bag by using compressed air at very low pressure.
6.2.7 Pour sufficient amount of purified water and rub the filter bag for cleaning the adhered mass and finally dry the filter bag with compressed air.
6.2.8 Clean the tank and hose pipe of vacuum cleaner using purified water.
6.2.9 Rub with nylon scrubber (if required) and finally rinse with sufficient amount of purified water.
6.2.10 Dry the tank and hose pipe with lint free cloth and finally dry with compressed air (if necessary).

6.3 Procedure for assembling of vacuum cleaner:
6.3.1 Insert the filter bag in the grove to assemble the vacuum cleaner.
6.3.2 Put the head assembly over the tank and clamp it tightly.
6.3.3 Ensure that filter bag is properly placed in the rim of bucket and suction hose pipe is properly attached to the vacuum cleaner.
6.3.4 Affix ‘cleaned’ label on the vacuum cleaner.
6.3.5 Validity of cleaned vacuum cleaner is one week and if not used within the week then perform cleaning before use.
