1.0 PURPOSE:
To lay down the Procedure for Monitoring the Lux level.
2.0 SCOPE:
This procedure for monitoring the Lux level is applicable at (Company name).
3.0 DEFINITIONS:
Nil.
4.0 RESPONSIBILITY:
4.1 Engineering personnel shall responsible for monitoring the Lux level.
4.2 Engineering head shall responsible to ensure compliance.
5.0 PROCEDURE:
5.1 Frequency: Illumination measurement shall be done yearly or whenever required.
5.2 Switch “ON” the tube lights.
5.3 Switch ON the Power slide switch of the Light Meter and a display appears on the screen.
5.4 Select the required maximum range on the “Range Switch” provided.
5.5 Hold the “Light Sensor” by hand at working level and face the measuring light oppositely.
5.6 Note down the readings from display in the Annexure-I.
5.7 Repeat the procedure for four more locations to get average Lux level of that space.
5.8 The illumination levels in different areas shall be as follows:
5.8.1 Not less than 200 lux in non-process areas.
5.8.2 Not less than 250 lux in process areas
5.8.3 Not less than 400 lux on the inspection belt.
5.9 If the required illumination is not attained, replace the light or change the lighting fixture as per the necessity and ensure for the proper illumination by following the procedure once again.
